Ben is the managing partner of Venture Guides, an early-stage investment firm. Previously, he served as co-managing partner for Bain Capital Ventures and senior advisor to the firm.  He has been named six times to Forbes annual “Midas List” of the world’s top venture capital investors. Concurrently, Ben also served as the CEO of Turbonomic, the pioneer in application resource management which he sold to IBM last year. Whether investing or operating, Ben is a veteran enterprise software executive delivering innovation and growth.

Previously, Ben was a political appointee and member of the Senior Executive Service reporting to U.S. Treasury Secretaries Robert Rubin and Lloyd Bentsen. For his tenure in public service, Ben was awarded the U.S. Treasury’s Exceptional Service Award.

Ben graduated with honors from Harvard College, where he earned the academic distinction of Harvard Scholar, was elected a class marshal and a representative to the undergraduate council, and captained the men’s varsity lacrosse team. He earned an M.B.A. with honors from Harvard Business School.
