Inquire
To begin the admissions process, please submit our Inquiry Form to receive important information on the application process and admissions updates.
Once submitted, you will receive emailed instructions to create your Middlesex Admissions Portal where you can schedule a tour and interview or virtual interview directly. Returning families should log into their Admissions Portal to update student information or add a new candidate.
Please provide unique emails for each student and parent/guardian as email is our primary communication to families. The Admissions portal is set up with the parent/guardian emails provided.
If you have a strong interest in athletics or the arts, please submit the Athletics Interest Form or Arts Interest Form so that our coaches and arts department can learn more about you.
For more information about the admission process, please visit the FAQs page.

Standardized Testing
Standardized testing is required for all applicants and must be sent to Middlesex directly by the testing service. Middlesex "super scores" the SSAT, considering the highest section scores across all the tests.
9th / 10th grade applicants: We accept the SSAT or the ISEE.
11th grade applicants: We accept the SSAT, PSAT, or the SAT.
- The Middlesex SSAT code is 5068; for more information about the SSAT, contact S.S.A.T.B. at 609-683-4440, www.ssat.org
- The Middlesex ISEE code is 220-650; for more information about ISEE, contact 800-446-0320, www.erbtest.org
For international applicants (for whom English is not the language spoken at home, and who have not been attending a school where English is the primary language for 2+ years), we require results from the TOEFL iBT, and TOEFL ITP Plus, Duolingo, or IELTS Indicator Exams.
- The Middlesex TOEFL code is 8720.
- Middlesex only accepts scores submitted electronically by the test center. Please contact the test center directly for your official scores to be submitted.
- In general, successful applicants to Middlesex have a high proficiency in English, which is typically demonstrated by a TOEFL score of 110 or higher, a score of 7.5 or higher on the IELTS, and a score of 125 or higher on Duolingo.

Apply
All applicants apply online from either Gateway to Prep Schools or the Standard Application Online (SAO). We do not have a preference between the two applications, but we require that applicants submit materials through only one application platform. The non-refundable application fee is $80 for all our international and domestic applicants.
- Fee waiver requests can be sent to admissions@mxschool.edu.
Applications require the following:
- Candidate Profile or Student Biographical Form
- Student Essay Questions
- Parent Statement
- Current EnglishTeacher Recommendation
- Current Math Teacher Recommendation
- Principal/Counselor Recommendation
- Transcripts (Current year, last year, and 2 years ago)
Transcripts and recommendations not submitted through Gateway or SAO may be emailed in PDF format to admissions@mxschool.edu by the school or recommender.
If you wish to share additional videos or documents related to athletics or arts, please feel free to email them directly to the head coach or department head.
The application deadline for all applicants in January 15th.
While we prefer to receive your portion of the application by January 15, we recognize that grades, recommendations, and testing may follow, and we promise to issue March 10 decisions to all students who have completed their applications by February 1. If you have questions regarding the timing of your application, please email the Admissions Office at admissions@mxschool.edu.
The Financial Aid application deadline is also January 15th.
We encourage all families to apply for financial aid, if they believe they will need any level of financial support during their child’s tenure at Middlesex. If a family does not apply for aid or qualify for aid upon admission, it is unlikely that the family will receive an aid award in subsequent years, unless there is a significant change in that family’s financial circumstances. Visit our Affording Middlesex page for more information.
