Affording Middlesex

A Middlesex education is both a tremendous opportunity and a deep investment in your child’s future. Middlesex strives to make our education affordable to all qualified applicants, regardless of a family’s ability to finance such an investment without assistance. Tuition for 2023-24 is $58,350 for day and $72, 050 for boarding. There are no additional fees beyond tuition. The cost of books totals an estimated $1,000 per year. Families will likely incur other optional expenses, such as spending money for the school grill and book store, and such expenses vary. International students must purchase health insurance for approximately $3,000 per year.

Middlesex offers financial grants to families based on their demonstrated financial need. In the 2023-24 year, Middlesex offered over $7.2 million dollars in aid to 33% of our student body, with an average grant of $56,731. The School is committed to socioeconomic diversity and offers awards of financial aid to families with a wide range of incomes. See the table below for financial aid award data for this year. Income is just one determinate of need. Each family’s particular financial circumstances—including income, expenses, assets, liabilities, family size, and number of students attending tuition-charging schools through the undergraduate level—are carefully weighed.

We encourage all families to apply for financial aid if they believe they will need any level of financial support during their child’s tenure at Middlesex. If a family does not apply for aid or qualify for aid upon admission, it is unlikely that the family will receive an aid award in subsequent years, unless there is a significant change in that family’s financial circumstances. We do our best to admit and fund a wide variety of students from a diversity of backgrounds. Although priority is given to US Citizens, each year we do provide financial aid to a small number of International students.
