    On May 17th, Alumni Weekend, the boys lacrosse team prepared to play Belmont Hill on our new turf field behind the school. Our record was 8-4, and we needed this victory if we were going to run the table in order to go 11-4 for the season. I was focused and a bit anxious when I noticed that a podium had been set up in the corner of the field with a gathering host of alumni. Jim Zimmerman, Director of Development, approached the podium. I am thinking to myself, “Why doesn’t Jim tell us when he is going to do things like this.” He proceeded to thank the donors and dedicate the field, to my absolute surprise, to me.

Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr. '20 Distinguished Alumni Award

Named in honor of Henry Cabot Lodge, Jr., a member of the Middlesex Class of 1920 and U.S. Senator from 1937-1944 and 1947-1953 (he served in the Army during World War II from 1944-1947), this award honors Middlesex alumni who have made a significant and lasting contribution to society, and who have brought great credit to Middlesex. The award is bestowed on a deserving alumnus each year by the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
