Wellness Week

During the week of January 13th, Middlesex had a special “Wellness Week” in which the community participated in events designed to foster health and well being. The School welcomed several guests to campus to discuss their work and lead wellness workshops, including author and alumna Awilda Rivera ’02, who spoke on Wellness: A Mind, Body, and Community Connection. Mindfulness trainer Charisse Minerva led a Drum Circle and offered a workshop to the entire faculty.

Tuesday of Wellness Week was a “tech free” day, during which students and faculty left their phones in their rooms, cars, or lockers for the entire day. The week also featured numerous other opportunities, big and small, for the community to cultivate wellness, including meditation, music, group exercise, class lunches, journal writing, a 3-3 basketball tournament, coloring books, baking, knitting, and an activity in gratitude led by the student Peace of Mind Club.
