Track & Field Thrives at NEPSTA Division III Championships

Middlesex Girls’ Track & Field placed 2nd out of 24 teams at the NEPSTA Division III Championships last weekend. Their second consecutive 2nd-place honors came from a true team showing, with nine athletes scoring points and contributing to the team score.  Middlesex athletes boasted scoring places in the sprints, hurdles, mid-distance races, jumps, and throws. Senior captains Ari Odom and Eliza Jevon were proud to hoist the second place plaque at the awards ceremony!

Charlotte O’Toole: 2nd place 800m, 4th place 200m
Eliza Jevon: 3rd place 800m, 5th place 1500m
Gabby Walsh: 3rd place 1500m, 4th place 3000m
Halina Tittmann: 3rd place triple jump, 6th place pole vault, 6th place javelin
Mimi Larriuex: 2nd place high jump
Ari Odom: 3rd place discus
Nina Thomas: 4th place 300m IH
Sage Nye: 4th place 800m
Isabelle Fuchs: 5th place 400m
4x400m relay: 2nd place *new school record

The boys team was led by senior captains Reed Foster and Ifeatu Menakaya. Menakaya earned 4th place in the shot put and Foster 6th place in the long jump in their final Middlesex competition, scoring points for the boys team. The boys 4x400m relay (Foster, Harrison Clark, Haydn Herrema, Kofi King) set a season PR in their final race and were able to take home 6th place ribbons!
