Ragtime Opens May 1

Ragtime
May 1st and 2nd
8:00 PM

Based on the novel by E.L. Doctorow, this musical explores a changing America at the turn of the 20thcentury.  Intermixing historical events with a fictionalized cast of characters, Broadway.com writes that, “Ragtime weaves together three distinctly American tales — that of a stifled society wife, a determined Jewish immigrant and a daring young Harlem musician — united by their courage, compassion and belief in the promise of the future.”  Featuring a cast of fifty and a crew of thirty-five, this show promises to be one of the biggest productions in the school’s recent history.

The show is open for outside audiences on both evenings.  Admission is free, but patron seating can be reserved for $25 a ticket by emailing [email protected].  All proceeds from patron seating support the department’s biennial trip to England.
