Middlesex Welcomes Back Max Talbot-Minkin ’03

This past Saturday, Middlesex welcomed back Max Talbot-Minkin ’03, who in 2003 was the first student to come out to the entire Middlesex community. His courageous decision at that time helped move the School forward in creating a more welcoming and safe community for LGBT students on campus.

Max spoke to the School at assembly about his time at Middlesex and his decision to come out. The assembly also served as an introduction for Wednesday’s Day of Silence, a national event that brings attention to anti-LGBT language and behavior. Every year, the Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) helps organize the day in which many students and facultly take “Vows of Silence” to illustrating the silencing effect of bullying and harassment on LGBTQ students.
