Days To Go On Landry House and New Docks for Bateman’s

This time last year we reported a hole in the ground was our soon to be a new dorm, Landry House. Here we are a year later reporting that the final touches and landscaping have begun. Indeed, we are less than a week away from faculty families moving into the dorm.

Remarkable progress throughout the year has allowed for Landry House to be done in such a timely manner. With the scaffolding down, the building has come to life and truly completes the circle, while blending in with ease with some of our older dorms. Indeed, Landry House looks like it could have been on campus the entire time. This effect was the exact aim of the project– to expand our ability to house students, without changing the overall feel and look of campus. As the decorative scrims that once blocked off the construction site came down, it was clear that Landry House will be a welcome addition to students and faculty come fall.

While all of the major construction on Landry House and the Music and Campus Center continued, another smaller, but much needed project began. The docks by Locke Boathouse on Bateman’s Pond were completely ripped out and replaced with new materials. The beloved docks will now float much better and be an all around safer experience for rowers and relaxers alike.
