With experience at both the secondary and university levels, Sam started his career in education as an admissions representative in the Harvard College Admissions Office. He then moved down the road to Boston University’s Admissions Office for six years, becoming a senior assistant director. Over the next four years, Sam was a senior associate director in the college counseling office at Choate Rosemary Hall, where he also co-taught a course in music production, coached squash, and managed a dorm. Beyond Middlesex, he is involved with the leadership team of the Association of College Counselors in Independent Schools and also counsels military veterans applying to college as a founding member of Higher Ground and as a Service to Schools Ambassador. Sam holds a B.A. in English from Connecticut College and studied piano and voice at the Berklee College of Music. In addition to his work in Middlesex’s College Office, Sam is an assistant varsity golf coach and serves as the head of Atkins House, where he lives with his wife and their three children.
