Welcoming New Faculty

Like the students they will soon meet in their classrooms, Middlesex’s new faculty members arrived early on campus this week for their own set of orientation meetings. Among the 11 educators joining the School are two familiar faces: Emerald Carter ’06, who returns to her alma mater to teach history; and Carolina Aldana, who resumes teaching Spanish here after two years of teaching in Mexico. Timothy Brady also joins the Spanish Department, while Elsa Clement will lead classes in French.

The English Department includes two new colleagues, Eliza Mott and Heather Wayne. Om Jha joins the STEM Division to teach both math and physics, and Miles Barnett adds his talents to the Arts Division’s Music Department.

In administrative realms, newly appointed Assistant Director of Admissions Briana Mastel will also serve as the head coach of girls’ varsity hockey. Within the Dean’s Office, Brenna Morrissey takes on the role of director of student activities, while Advancement Officer Christine Steiner lends her expertise to the Alumni and Development Office.
