One man’s trash is another man’s treasure, as students demonstrated during technology recycling day at Middlesex. Technology recycling (or reusing) provides the opportunity not only to discard old computers, monitors, keyboards, and cell phones in an environmentally-friendly way, but also to forage for hardware for your latest project! Ted ’18 collected a low-power server to run some of his own projects at home. Harper ’17 scavenged for the pieces to assemble his own desktop computer. Hyun ’17 found an old desktop and is designing a way to use it in conjunction with his Macbook, on the same external monitor, for programming work. Technology recycling day was a win-win for our students and for the environment.
