Sophomore Connections

Sophomore discussion groups called “Connections” are now under way. As part of our community life program, which includes the popular “Choices” program for freshmen, Connections aims to help new and returning sophomores get to know each other while simultaneously discussing topics that will help them negotiate these tricky adolescent years.

Students meet in small groups of 10-12 students with a male and female faculty facilitator and – of course – delicious snacks. The curriculum is fun and engaging; students think about how to be happy, healthy, and productive members of the community. Connections is truly a community-wide effort, as history, science, and English classes give a reduced homework load to sophomores on Tuesday nights. The three sessions of Connections culminate with the Sophomore Class Retreat, a day filled with team-building exercises, laughter, and making connections across the class.
