MxAA: Making the Connection!

The Middlesex Alumni Association (MxAA)  was founded 15 years ago with the goal of strengthening the relationships within and across classes, and as a result, reinforcing their bond to the School. In other words, the MxAA is all about making and keeping connections! Since 2004, its Board of Directors  has worked to establish a growing variety of programs that provide Middlesex graduates with the opportunity to enrich their alumni experience. Additionally, the MxAA has provided support to those Middlesex students who may need some financial assistance for technology needs or to enable them to fully participate in some of the enriching Middlesex opportunities such as language immersion or athletic trips. The MxAA is entirely self-funded, and the biennial Gala Auction Benefit supports their many outreach programs:

The upcoming biennial Middlesex Gala is the perfect opportunity to celebrate all that we love about Middlesex. As an Alumni Association, our goal is to reinvest in our alumni and current students to build the strongest Middlesex Community possible. This event has raised $700,000 to date and funds our many worthwhile programs. We hope that you can join us for both a fun evening celebrating Middlesex and an opportunity to reinvest in the experiences of our alumni and current students. Our community is extremely strong and it is the direct result of the engagement from our committed parents and alumni. Thank you – I hope to see you on April 5th!

Auction Item Sneak Peek #2

  • Dine at Pammy’s
Donor: Pam Diem Willis ’95 and Chris Willis
Located between Central and Harvard Square in Cambridge, Pammy’s has been called “a destination neighborhood restaurant” by The Boston Globe. The trattoria opened in July 2017 and is run by Pam Diem Willis ’95 and her husband Chris, who is the restaurant’s chef. Chris has applied the knowledge learned at such Boston establishments as Rialto and Clio to offer “every day dishes made better,” according to the Globe. This item features a four-course dinner for four people with wine pairings at Pammy’s and is good for the next twelve months.
  • The Big Club
    Donor: Scott Reid ’84 P’18
Routinely ranked among the top 10 courses in the country by Golf Digest, Fishers Island Club offers water views on nearly every hole. Designed by Seth Raynor in 1926, the club is often referred to as “the Cypress Point of the East” and golfclubatlas.com states “seeing a ball bounding along the ground at Fishers Island is one of the great joys in the game.” This round for three guests along with member Scott Reid ’84 P’18 is available on a mutually convenient date in the 2019 golf season. Be the winning bidder and cross this course off of your golf bucket list!
  • Iceland: Land of Fire and Ice
    Donor: Anonymous
Iceland has become one of the hottest destinations for tourists and you can enjoy all that this island nation has to offer with this 5-night stay for 2. The package includes a guided walking tour of Reykjavik City Center, tours of the Golden Circle and the South Coast, and trips to the Blue Lagoon and the Northern Lights. Airport transfers and concierge service are also provided. Iceland’s dramatic natural wonders are nothing short of magical, making this an enchanted adventure of a lifetime!

We are putting out a special request to all of our parents and alumni to please consider culling your wine collection for our benefit! We will gladly accept your donations of wine or wine experiences for the auction. In the past we have had donations from a single vintage bottle to a full case and vineyard tour — and everything in between. We are fortunate to have a number of resources (parents and alumni alike) that will be able to help us curate your generous donations.
