MxAA Grants 12 Alumni Internship Stipends

For the ninth consecutive year, the Middlesex Alumni Association provided funding for recent alumni who had unpaid internship opportunities across the country and around the world. The funding is designed to help offset the costs that are often associated with accepting such an internship and allow Middlesex alumni the opportunity to gain valuable experience as they ponder possible careers after college. This year, the MxAA supported 12 alumni who had opportunities at organizations such as the Office of Senator Kristin Gillibrand of New York, the Suffolk District Attorney’s Office, the Center for an Urban Future in New York City, and Edgewater Gallery in Middlebury, Vermont. “I feel that this internship has provided me with experience and connections that should prove valuable in the years to come as I seek a career in the broader foreign policy arena,” wrote Dakota Foster ’14, who interned with the House Foreign Affairs Committee in Washington, DC. Cris DeBiase ’09, who interned with the Office of the Attorney General in Connecticut, said of her experience “This internship confirmed that I am interested in pursuing a career in technology law. Since this area of law is so cutting-edge, my experiences this summer have helped immensely in the job application process.” Congratulations to all those who received stipends on their incredible work throughout the summer!
