MX Alumni Association Hosts 2015 Career Panels

A combined group of nearly one hundred alumni turned out in Boston and New York last week for the annual Middlesex Alumni Association Career Panels. These events are designed to bring alumni together to hear from industry leaders who have achieved success in their particular field. The Boston event was held at the downtown Harvard Club on January 6 and featured Mindy Berman ’88, Rick Burnes ’59 P’85, Adam Goldkamp ’96, Ted Mehm ’83 P’14’17, and Jeita Phillips ’97. Rob Trumbull ’00 moderated the discussion. Two nights later, the New York panel was held at the Princeton Club and featured Jennifer Gomez ’04, Joe Kahn ’83, Sandi Pei ’68 P’16, Anthony Thompson ’83, Wanji Barrington Walcott ’87 P’12 and Stephen Wadsworth Zinsser ’71. The New York panel was moderated by Andy Pitts ’84.
The panelists answered a series of questions from the moderators and the audience and shared their wisdom with the alumni in attendance. Finding a profession about which you can be passionate, the importance of taking risks, the need to find a company with a positive culture with which you can align yourself, and the impact their Middlesex education has had upon their professional success were all themes that emerged out of both discussions.
The career panels are a concrete example of the power of the Middlesex alumni network. To tap into that network, please contact Director of Alumni Relations John Morrissey at [email protected]. Special thanks to all of our panelists for taking the time to share their career advice.
