Internships – Opening Doors to Opportunity

Since its inception, the Middlesex Alumni Association has strived to create and broaden programming that offers career opportunities to MX alumni. For example, a substantial Career Advisory Database allows the MxAA to connect alumni who are exploring career options with experts in their field, across the globe. And since 2008, MxAA has funded an Internship Stipend program that provides financial assistance to college-age alumni who have landed content-rich, unpaid internships in dynamic organizations. These internships – and others – open all sorts of doors for our young alumni. There, they have an opportunity to gain an insider’s view to a possible career path, and networking opportunities with leaders in their field. On a more personal level, these internships inspire confidence, commitment and help to build critical skills. Just last year, MxAA funded 12 unpaid internships with stipends!

We heard from Dakota Foster ‘14 as she wrapped up her internship with the House Foreign Affairs Committee this past summer:

“As my internship comes to an end, I am incredibly grateful for the Alumni Association Board’s generosity in helping make this opportunity a reality. I feel that this internship has provided me with experience and connections that should prove valuable in the years to come as I seek a career in the broader foreign policy arena. “

We hope that you will consider joining us at the upcoming MxAA Gala Benefit and Auction. 100% of the proceeds from the evening fund all of the initiatives of the MxAA, including the Internship Stipends. The Gala Benefit and Auction will take place on April 7th at the beautiful Four Seasons Boston. In addition to the fun opportunity to socialize with parents and alumni outside of a typical MX setting, you will have many chances to win some pretty fabulous auction items!

Please take a moment to register today for this fun, and worthwhile event!

For more information on the Gala, reserving a table or donating an item/experience, please contact Director of Alumni Relations John Morrissey, 978-371-6523 or [email protected]
