Independent Study

The Middlesex curriculum offers a great deal of breadth and challenge, but if one of our 140 courses doesn’t fulfill your interests, you can undertake an Independent Study Project (ISP).  An ISP is a student’s opportunity to pursue a specific interest or passion one-on-one with a faculty member.  The student and faculty member work together to design the curriculum, materials, assessments, and learning objectives.  ISPs from this academic year include:

Swedish language
Narrative Nonfiction
Asian American Literature
Security in Foreign Diplomacy
Advanced Astrophysics
Business Management
World Mythology
Social Justice in American Literature
American Social History: 1960s
