The STEM Division is committed to developing students’ abilities to investigate and solve 21st century problems. Students may earn a certificate for completing an Experience with Problem-solving, Reasoning, and Technology (ExPRT) through designated ExPRT courses in the Division or through approved extra-curricular projects or contests. These experiences require students to perform research and analyze data, and they provide students with a variety of opportunities to incorporate technology.
The key components of an ExPRT are:
-
Group work and collaboration
-
Multi-day projects
-
Open-ended problems
-
Written presentation
-
Oral presentation
The inaugural winners of ExPRT certificates were announced in assembly on December 8, 2015. Check out a video, produced by Nick Agee ’16, highlighting the work of Kelly Finke ’17, Jack Yoon ’16, Kiara Wahnschafft ’17, and Emily ’18 and Alice Yu ’19.
