Annual Holiday Concert Fills Chapel with Joy

The Holiday Concert is the School’s annual celebration of the winter holidays in music.  Over the years, these concerts have presented a wide array of musical styles, from Renaissance motets to Duke Ellington.  The 2017 concert featured selections from Mozart’s 1780 composition, Vesperae solennes de confessore.

A chorus of over 100 students, faculty and staff joined together to sing holiday favorites like Silent Night and Chanukah, Oy Chanukah, and Choral Officers Elizabeth Ensslin ’18, Ameya Shere ’18, Derek Marmolejos ’18, and Sarah McClusky ’18 dazzled with an a cappella arrangement of White Winter Hymnal. The concert also featured outstanding instrumental performances: the Jazz Band contributed a trio of rousing pieces that included solos from Robbie Winthrop ’18 on guitar and Harrison Clark ’18 on drumsand the Chamber Ensemble layered Mozart’s Vesperae with nuance, energy, and grace. Congratulations to all the performers!
