Aerospace Engineering: Ready for Launch

The Aerospace Engineering class had their final launch on Friday, January 22 out on the balmy 30 degree fields, launching rockets of ~20″ length to an altitude of 800 feet high.  The critical goal of the launch was to simulate a human passenger, by using an “egg payload.”  The cleanest launch of the day was Gabriel de los Santos ’17 and Joseph Feeney ’17, pictured above, who launched, landed, and retrieved their rocket will all parts intact, and the egg still uncracked.  Mr. Kenn Blade, president of the Massachusetts chapter of National Association of Rocketry (NAR), joined us as well and helped with launch techniques for our final launch.  Well done to everyone in the class, and well done on the final launch!
