The Three Sisters a Smashing Success

The Three Sisters

On November 14 and 15, the Middlesex theatre department presented its fall play, Anton Chekov's The Three Sisters. At the turn of the 20th century, Anton Chekhov's plays changed the way we think of theatre, making our everyday hopes, dreams, and failures the core of realistic drama.  This drama explores the lives of a host of characters, who while laughing, wooing, singing, arguing, joking, and always trying to make the most of their lives, find their hearts broken as they often fail to find the love they seek.  With a modern translation by Paul Schmidt and a stellar Middlesex ensemble of 14 Middlesex theatre veterans, this production proved as resonant in 2014 as it did in 1900.  Aided by 22 crew members, the cast put on a tremendous production.  Bravo!
