Middlesex Crew Heads to Nationals

After a remarkable come-from-behind win at the New England Interscholastic Regatta in late May, the Girls' Varsity Crew first boat heads to Oak Ridge, TN to compete in US Rowing Youth Nationals June 7-9th.  Since the end of the regular season, the girls have continued to train, increasing their strength and endurance to race the international 2,000 meter distance, instead of the typical 1,500-meter high school race. The last time Middlesex competed at Nationals in 2006, with current faculty member and assistant coach Kathy Smithwick '08 in the boat, the crew placed 5th. See a video of that race below, and watch this year's races live!

USRowing is excited to provide live streaming video coverage of semifinals and finals at the 2013 Youth National Championships June 8-9. Click here access live video on USRowing's You Tube channel. Middlesex will compete in the Womens Youth 4+, event 12. Good luck!
