Inspired by both the tight US Senate race in Massachusetts and the national Presidential election on November 6th, the Middlesex Senate held its own mock election on campus. Out of 375 students, 302 cast their vote -- 80% voter turnout, well above the national average. In keeping with the pre-election polls, the Middlesex mock election was tight with 47% in favor of President Obama and 49% for Governor Romney (a difference of only 6 votes). Four percent of the vote went to third-party candidates. Thanks to exit polling work, our history and statistics classess will be discussing and analyzing the voting data.
