Digital Media in the Arts

Middlesex School

Taking advantage of some free time during exam week, the art division participated in a full-day workshop on Adobe Photoshop with Mass Art professor Andreas Randhahn.  Teachers considered ways to integrate digital media into course curriculums and how to manipulate media for the web.

In the spring semester, faculty member Ryan DuBray will offer a Digital Media course:

The Digital Media course provides an introduction to the creative arts in the digital age.  Students will be introduced to visual principles as the basis of graphic design.  Using a variety of digital media, students will learn how to create professional looking PowerPoint presentations, edit music and create sound effects with GarageBand, shoot and edit video with iMovie, and use Photoshop to create their own graphic designs.  Additionally, they will learn to design their own websites which they will use and maintain throughout the semester.
