What did you do last weekend?

A weekend at Middlesex School can run the full range from total rest to total recreation.  Over the last few weeks, our calendar has featured our first long weekend (no classes from a half-day Friday through Monday) and a signature Middlesex dance (“The Random Dance”).  Beyond these occasions, however, there has been a notable array of offerings, including but not limited to the following faculty and student led events—just since the beginning of October:

A trip to the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston (coffee and pastries included)

Deep sea fishing trip out of Boston Harbor (Dramamine included)

A trip to see Candide at the Hungtington Theater

Golf at a local public course

A screening of the movie Great Hair (sponsored by SOL—the Society of Latinos)

Trips to the movies, apple picking, and, of course, Spooky World

A trip into the annual (and free!) Boston Book Festival

Pizza and/or Football and/or Wings and/or Laser Tag and/or scenic puppy-walking with Mr. Shapiro

Community Service at Cor Unum (a meal center in Lawrence, MA)

Dinner at a Cambridge Vietnamese restaurant

In addition to all of this activity, there was, of course, plain old resting and relaxation going on around and about the Middlesex campus and Circle.  Still, it’s good to know there are places to go and things to do when the mood and the energy seize you.
