In May 2011, Middlesex students set several records on the Advanced Placement (AP) exams. APs are college-level courses and exams, and Middlesex School offers 23 AP courses in its curriculum. This past spring, 223 Middlesex students sat for 528 AP exams, and 213 of the 223 testers scored a 3 or higher on the exams—all Middlesex School records. The rate of 95.5% of the students earning a 3 or higher on the exam is the highest percentage in School history.
Middlesex students also enjoyed some remarkable results on the AP Scholars Awards. Forty students were recognized as AP Scholars, 30 students as AP Scholars with Honor, 44 students as AP Scholars with Distinction, and 7 students as AP National Scholars.
