Walking for Hunger

On Sunday May 1, a small team of Middlesex students and faculty joined more than 40,000 people to make a statement against hunger.  Team MX walked ten miles along the Charles River in Cambridge, MA and raised nearly $2,000.  Money raised from the walk will be used to support Project Bread, an organization that works to develop solutions that provide people…

Daniel ’18 to Compete in USA Junior Math Olympiad

Thanks to his exceptional performance on the American Invitational Mathematics Examination, Daniel Lee ’18, of Seoul, South Korea, was recently invited to take the USA Junior Math Olympiad, or USA(J)MO.  Of the thousands of test takers, only about 500 students are invited to take the USA(J)MO.  The USA Junior Mathematical Olympiad is administered simultaneously and synchronously across US time zones. …

Robotics Club’s Robot Showdown

This fall, the Robotics Club divided into teams to build “Sumo” Robots. The process of designing, building, and programming was a group effort and culminated in our Sumo Robot Competition on March 2 in the Clay Science Centre.  With a core group of 8 students and numerous friends, our robots represent over 120 engineer-hours while building, troubleshooting, programming, and debugging. – Chuck…

Sled Hockey Fundraiser a Success

On February 20, the 10th Mountain Division Wounded Warriors Sled Hockey Team took the ice in a fundraiser game at Middlesex.  Over 30 Middlesex students strapped into sleds to compete side-by-side and against members of the Mountain Division Wounded Warriors team.  The mixed-squad Wounded Warriors beat the blended Middlesex team 5-1, but few will remember the final score; participants will…
