2015-16 School Leadership

Meet the Middlesex 2015-16 School President, Kojo Edzie ’16, and Vice President, Deborah (DJ) Williams ’16.  Both Kojo and DJ arrived at Middlesex as freshmen and both are boarding students; DJ hails from Brooklyn, NY, and Kojo is from nearby Dracut, MA.  School leadership seems to run in the Edzie family.  Kojo is the fourth Edzie child to attend Middlesex, and he follows in the footsteps of his older sister, Gabby ’13, who was senior class president.  No stranger to the student-run School Senate, Kojo has served as both a sophomore class and a dorm representative.  His favorite activities at Middlesex include theatre (among other roles, he played Angel in last year’s spring musical, Rent), running track, and hanging out on the Circle.  Kojo’s goal next year is to facilitate a school culture that encourages full participation in dances and other events.

Like Kojo, DJ is actively involved on campus.  A favorite babysitter to faculty children, DJ is also the head of cooking club and Divine Visions, the school’s step team.  She loves to give admissions tours, sing in Chapel Chorus, work behind the scenes in tech theatre, and cheer on the Zebras in athletic competitions.  DJ hopes to bring the school closer together next year, and – especially after the long winter of 2015 – make winters on campus a bit more enjoyable.

Congratulations to Kojo and DJ!
