Welcome to Campus, Landry House!

Middlesex is excited to announce that Landry House is officially complete! Though students moved into the dorm over Labor Day weekend, landscaping continued throughout September. We are thrilled that the dedication of the dorm, which happened on Friday September 23, 2016, marked the end of the long process of planning and building our newest addition to campus.  The dorm itself is a beautiful addition and fits into the flow of the circle seamlessly, with the final product adhering to the original renderings almost perfectly.

The vision of Landry House since the beginning of Mx2 planning was to add a dormitory, without blocking the view of the circle.

Landry House: September 2016.

It was more than just a new dormitory that transformed the Lowell Road side of campus: twenty-six new trees were planted behind Higginson and around Landry House. Additionally, around fifty shrubs and bushes were planted to complete the landscaping and tie in the new addition to the rest of campus. Another big change that occurred as a result of Landry House was the much-needed adjustments to the driveway behind LB. The driveway saw the elimination of the old green garage (pictured below) and a repaved entrance to LB, Higginson, Landry, and the two faculty homes atop the athletic fields. In all, this change opened up view corridors and expanded the ease of movement from dorm to dorm.

The green garage (a storage site for faculty families) was torn down late this summer in anticipation of the new paving project.

The newly paved driveway allows for opened view corridors, greater ease between dorms, and easier access for cars.

From Landry House to the new landscaping to the repaved driveways, the entire Mx2 project links campus, while preserving the ultimate connection to the heart of Middlesex, the circle.
