Landscaping Begins on Bancroft Courtyard

Over the summer the construction team focused on the exterior work surrounding the Bancroft Courtyard. The landscaping crews laid new granite treads to four different staircases while grading a new accessible entrance from the circle to the courtyard.  The construction fencing has been moved in towards the theater entrance which allowed landscaping crews to install irrigation and final plantings near the circle.

As the school year begins crews will focus on the installation of a new Mindfulness Labyrinth and pouring seat walls that will accompany the new granite paved courtyard.  The courtyard will be completed by the end of October with final plantings in place by the end of this planting season.
Construction crews made significant progress along the exterior envelope as they completed roofing, masonry and window installations.  Inside visual arts, classrooms and studios have received their first coats of paint, bathrooms have been tiled, and carpenters are prepping for finish work.
Within the walls of the theater crews completed the installation catwalks, mounted large acoustically rated air handlers, completed all concrete pours, and are well underway with electrical and mechanical installations.
