Virtual Alumni Weekend 2021

MX Celebrates First Cluster Reunion – Online!
June 11 – 12, 2021

Last year, the pandemic forced us to cancel our 2020 in-person Alumni Weekend, leaving us little time to prepare – or know how to prepare – for a virtual reunion as a replacement.  Well, we’ve learned a thing or two over the last year, and we are excited to ask that members of our Old Guard, and alumni from all graduating classes ending in a ‘0, ‘1, ‘5, or ‘6 to reserve the weekend of June 11 and 12, 2021 for a Virtual Reunion!

These are unusual times for sure, but with some modifications to our normal programming, we are optimistic that we can provide all of our alumni with a unique and impactful weekend.

Highlights for this weekend include our very own Steve Carell ‘80, on hand to accept the Distinguished Alumni Award, and a well-deserved tribute to our Middlesex Black Pioneers, marking 50 years since our first black graduates.

Friday
7:00 pm
Welcome, and Greetings from Former Faculty Members

Take a moment to check in on some former faculty members as they catch us up on their lives today, and reminisce about their time on campus.

Middlesex Alumni Association President Rob Trumbull ’00 presents actor, writer, director, and producer Steven J. Carell ’80 with this prestigious Middlesex award. 1:00 pm
Alumni Memorial Chapel

Please consider joining us virtually, in the beautiful Lambert Hall in Memorial Chapel, for this thoughtful and reflective service in special recognition of our Middlesex alumni who are deceased. Reverend Joseph P. Watkins, Class of 1971, will preside.

Click for the Alumni Memorial Service program.  Please note that although we treasure all of our decease alumni, only those alumni in reunion years will have their names recognized for this service.

7:00 pm
“Those Who Came First”
A Tribute Honoring Middlesex Black Pioneers

In this compilation program, we’ll hear from the School’s first black students as they reflect on their experiences at Middlesex during the late 1960s – early 70s, as well as from Ken Whitlock who became the School’s first black faculty member of color in 1986.

Admiring faculty members and students share their memories and gratitude for those that led the way, helping to make what Middlesex is today.
