MXAA Board

The Middlesex Alumni Association (MxAA) Board is a group of alumni whose charter it is to advance the mission of the MxAA:

“The purpose of the Middlesex Alumni Association is to perpetuate close relationships among its members and to enhance their continuing relationships among its members and to enhance their continuing relationship with the Middlesex community. The Association will identify specific goals and create, administer and support programs that it feels will best serve to meet the stated purpose. Guiding principles shall be to (1) increase communication between alumni and the School; (2) strengthen the ties among Middlesex alumni; and (3) assist in supporting the initiatives and reputation of the School.”

The Middlesex Alumni Association runs independent programming for alumni, as well as providing the School with insights into alumni sentiment on various issues. The work of this body is primarily engagement, not policy-making, advisory or governance, and is completely independent of the Middlesex Board of Trustees. The MxAA divides into working groups based upon what is perceived as the greatest need at the time. The board is composed of alumni whose demonstrated service and leadership display a strong understanding and commitment to Middlesex.

The Alumni Association consists of representatives spanning six decades of graduates, and an Alumni Office representative. The President, Vice President, Committee Chairs, and the Director of Alumni Relations comprise the Executive Committee of the Alumni Association. All members of the board serve three-year terms, and are renewed to the board on a voluntary basis after their term expires.

The Alumni Association accepts nominations on a rolling basis, but reviews nominees once annually with the intention of replacing members who are leaving at the end of their term. Nominees will be notified of their consideration only at the time of their selection, and then given the option to accept a role on the Alumni
