Warburg Library Mission

Promote a love of learning that integrates the library into the intellectual, academic and cultural life of Middlesex School.

Create a library program that aligns with the school’s program in all aspects.

Teach information literacy skills that encompass the ability to find, use, and evaluate information and ideas.  The library staff collaborates with the faculty to teach research skills (including how to use primary sources, abstracts, citations, indexes and bibliographies), teach critical thinking, the process of accessing information, and evaluation of resources through classroom instruction and individual reference interviews.

Encourage an atmosphere that fosters a love of reading where students can concentrate and be intellectually curious.

Develop an accessible and inviting use of space.

Strive to raise social awareness and encourage cultural sensitivity by creating a culturally enriched and inclusive environment.

Build the collection based on the school’s curriculum and community interests.

Provide a vision and direction for use of library technology.
