Global MX
At Middlesex, the term “global” not only applies to the geographical and cultural spaces beyond Middlesex, but it also encompasses the breadth and complexity of the Middlesex Community. We believe that global awareness and competence is a lifelong process, the roots for which should be planted and cultivated both in and outside of our classrooms, on campus, and around the globe. Middlesex School is committed to preparing all students with the skills, content, and experiences to become global citizens who will grow to become comfortable with the discomfort that often comes with negotiating the world outside of their own immediate experiences. All Middlesex students will graduate having developed five core global competencies.

Greece: Classics Department
Γειά σας (hello) και χαίρετε (greetings)! In collaboration with the Paideia Institute, the Classics Department is pleased to offer the opportunity of a lifetime: the chance to explore the archaeological wonders of ancient Greece with expert guides while experiencing the vibrant culinary and artistic traditions of modern Greece, one of the most picturesque destinations in the world. Immerse yourself in ancient history at the Acropolis and Mycenae, marvel at the stunning views from Cape Sounion and heights of Nafplio, ponder the mysteries of the ancient oracle at Delphi in the shadow of Mt. Parnassus, and follow in the footsteps of legendary athletes who were once crowned Olympic champions in the Sanctuary of Zeus at Olympia. Expand your horizons in a land of myth and history where the ancient and the modern intertwine.
This trip is open all students. Target enrollment is 12 to 16 students. If necessary priority in enrollment will be given to students in 11th and 12th grades, students enrolled in Greek and Latin courses at Middlesex, as well as to those students who have not yet gone on a Middlesex-run trip. Enrolled students will be required to attend several preparation meetings prior to the trip's departure.
Morocco: French Department
Join the French Department this spring on a language and culture tour steeped in rich history, multicultural experiences, and delicious food, complimented by the opportunity to engage in French throughout. Come explore and get lost in Moroccan souks–the traditional markets–as well as the famous medinas, the Islamic old towns known for their narrow, winding streets. This 9-day trip is the perfect opportunity for French students to display their language skills, all while taking in the sights of some of the most beautiful places in the Francophone world.
