For Boarders Only
Welcome to the Middlesex community! We look forward to getting to know you and your children next fall. To help you prepare, a list of recommended items that new students should bring with them to school can be found in What You Will Need at Middlesex.
Follows is a brief explanation of how incoming boarding students are assigned.
Certain blocks of rooms in each dormitory are set aside for new students, especially those entering the ninth grade, since we have found it advantageous for them to be grouped together. And, we attempt to ensure that entering tenth and eleventh graders have at least some of their classmates in close proximity.
The nine dormitories house between 25 and 37 students and have a mix of single and double rooms. Whenever possible, new students will be assigned to double rooms. The ability to live together, both as housemates and roommates, is a critical facet of the School’s residential philosophy. Further, we find that students are most able to hone skills around co-living in their first year at the School. With that in mind, we ask each incoming boarding student to fill out a rooming form. To give us the best ability to place each student with a compatible roommate or housemates please complete the following form with care.
