Conor Murphy '10 Backstops Colgate Men's Lacrosse Team

Conor Murphy ’10 had his first collegiate start in net for the Colgate men’s lacrosse team on Saturday, May 12 against UMass Amherst. The Wilmington, MA native recorded 15 saves for the Raiders and helped his team defeat the Minutemen 13-11 in the first round of the 2012 NCAA tournament.

 At Middlesex, Conor had 363 saves throughout his career on the boys’ varsity lacrosse team and a .744 save percent average. His junior and senior year he helped backstop his team to win two back-to-back ISL Championship titles and was named to the All-ISL team (2009-2010) as well as the All-New England team (2010). In addition to lacrosse, he also earned letters in football and ice hockey.

 Colgate (No. 9) will face Duke (No. 3) in the NCAA quarterfinals where fellow Middlesex grad David Lawson plays midfield for the Blue Devils. David has had yet another impressive season, recording 12 goals, five assists and 29 ground balls. The Blue Devils end their regular season with an overall record of 13-4.

 The two teams will play on Sunday, May 20 at PPL Park in Philadelphia, PA at 2:30pm. The game will be televised on ESPNU and ESPN3.com
