Art Facilities
Middlesex students pursue their vision and their art in workspaces designed to cultivate creativity, focus, collaboration, and inspiration. Musicians practice in private soundproof studios, and actors rehearse both on the main stage and in the intimacy of our black box theater. After photographic excursions to Boston, students bring the images to life in our digital photo lab. Our art studio offers ample space (and open hours) for students to develop long-term projects in multiple media. After students prepare their work, we provide a showcase it. The Chapel pairs brilliant acoustics with an elegantly intimate venue that is perfect for both choral and instrumental concerts. Our professionally-equipped main stage is surrounded by amphitheater seating. The theater also features spacious dressing rooms, dynamic sets and technical support, and state of the art technology for lighting and visual effects. The Cornelius Ayer Wood '13 Gallery features rotating visual art exhibits of both professional artists and Middlesex students.
