The Middlesex faculty is truly extraordinary in its talent and dedication. Their individual talents and passions make them scholars and scientists, artists, performers and musicians, authors, activists and athletes. One collective measure of the faculty's expertise and passion is that 45 out of the 81 faculty members hold advanced degrees. But beyond this investment in their disciplines is an unusual devotion to students – in classes, labs and dorms, on teams, and as advisees. Again, one rough measure of this commitment to students is the faculty's long average tenure – eighteen years – but the best evidence is the friendships between adults and young people, both while they are students and long after they leave Middlesex.
