Welcome to the Middlesex School web site. While no web site, publication, or video can fully convey the spirit and culture of a school, I hope that you find our site helpful as you consider Middlesex as an option.

The latest research shows that the best learning occurs in small schools where students are known and valued. As a small school internationally known for academic excellence, we believe Middlesex provides the most appropriate learning environment for high school students: a program with surprising depth and abundant opportunities for growth, enveloped in a closeknit community where each student is known and valued for his/her individuality. Last year's class included an Intel Scholar finalist, recruited Division I college athletes, talented artists, and plenty of wonderful students who found their promise under the close care of our talented faculty.

I encourage you to request information and, more importantly, come visit us in historic Concord, MA. I think you will find that for a school with such academic strength, our culture is refreshingly unique and inviting.

We look forward to meeting and learning more about you.

Sincerely,

Doug Price

As an international student I had to quickly adapt to my new surroundings at Middlesex. It might sound somewhat painful and difficult to adapt to a totally new environment and society, but my experience at Middlesex was one of the most significant and successful transitions in my life.
Fall Play & Soccer Postseason
11/17/2008

This year, some of Middlesex's most talented students were cast in the fall production of Shakespeare's As You Like It.  The cast worked extremely hard all through the semester, and their hard work paid off on Friday night when what seemed like the entire school packed into the theatre for opening night.  It was a great success; I found most students mentioning the fact that although Shakespeare may be hard to digest on paper, our schoolmates had done a fabulous job of acting it out.  Middlesex is very lucky to have such a great Theatre department and so many dedicated students.

The 2008 Girls’ Varsity Soccer team had an amazing season, finishing 11-3-3 overall (6-3-3 in ISL), one of the best regular season records in Middlesex history. The team was composed of 5 freshmen, 2 sophomores, 5 juniors and 6 seniors, all of which came to each practice and each game and gave it their all every day. Because of their fourth place finish in the ISL and key victories over schools like Andover, Brooks, and Rivers, the Middlesex girls earned the 5th seed in the New England Class B Tournament. Their quarterfinal game was on the road against 4th seed Governor’s Academy—both teams fought a hard and difficult battle, but Middlesex grabbed the win in the last few minutes of the game. Next, Middlesex was off to Assumption College on a rainy and windy day to take on 1st seed Worcester Academy in the semifinals. The game was long and full of action, as each team scored an exciting goal in regular time. However, at the end of two overtimes, Middlesex and Worcester remained tied. The teams went to penalty shots, where Worcester Academy edged out the perseverant Middlesex girls. Despite the disappointing result, the Middlesex team displayed one of their best performances of the year, and could not have been happier with their season.
